Email Marketing Tips - Edition 15

Update on Feb. 8, 2013: Deleted all entries with outdated tips or broken links.

Welcome to the fifteenth edition of email marketing tips on December 12, 2008.

When I showed this carnival edition to my assistant Jennifer before I published it she said, “This is really a noteworthy issue for concluding the series this year.” Right, my friends, the year 2008 is almost over and I will take a break from this carnival for one month. You should take a break too and enjoy Christmas and New Years Eve with your family. Therefore, the next edition #16 will be published next year on Wednesday, January 14th, 2009. See you then after “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Today's categories are as follows:
  • Code Of Practice
  • Strategy
  • Email Marketing For Bloggers
  • Copywriting

Let's dive right into it. Aweber has some terrific tips for you. That's why I put this category to the front this time.

Code Of Practice

Simon Stapleton presents 10 Big Reasons Why Freelancers Must Use Elance and Rentacoder or Other Freelance Marketplaces posted at Career & Personal Development for CIOs, Technical Professionals and Self-Professed Geeks, saying, “Freelance Marketplaces, like Elance and Rentacoder, have grown very popular with freelancers and their clients because they are a ‘platform solution’ to many freelancer business problems. For a small(ish) fee, freelancers enjoy many benefits. What are they, and why use these platforms?”

John's comment: I think everybody should know about those freelance platforms. That's a place where you can get any job done. It's a place where you can go shopping for talent. Need a great series of articles for your autoresponder? No problem you'll find great copywriters there. Etc.

Case Stevens presents Is Tell A Friend Strategy Safe To Use? posted at Affordable Internet Marketing, saying, “Viral marketing through Tell A Friend is on the edge, but if you follow the rules it may be a great marketing strategy ...”

John's comment: I am not a particular friend of tell a friend scripts myself. Case gives us possible caveats.

Welly Mulia presents 4 Ways To Promote An Affiliate Product posted at Internet Business Make Money Online With Welly Mulia.

John's comment: One of the strategies include building your email list. Bingo!

Email Marketing For Bloggers

I present you Email Marketing Tips: Writing Effective Email Subject Lines posted at Chris Garrett on New Media. Chris is saying, “What people forget, of course, is that it is not how clever the email subject is but how much it appeals to the reader. The main factor that will impact your success (or lack of) will be how well you address your target audience.”

John's comment: Getting people to open and read your email is the goal, but don't forget spam filter! Chris addresses this subject, too (of course.)

Anita Ashland presents Is there a formula for autoresponder emails? posted at Money-Making Email, saying, “As an email copywriter I'm often asked if there's a formula for email copy. So here it is.”

John's comment: I think there are many formats and possible ways to write your emails. This is one.

Update Feb. 2013: Anita's tips is still online but she has switched to a new blog at (↑) in the meantime

That concludes this edition.
