Welcome to the sixteenth edition of email marketing tips on January 20, 2009.

The first edition of email marketing tips in 2009 is packed with information. I am not talking about the number of blog posts that I am featuring. No. I have thrown out almost all that got submitted. What's left is worthy of your attention and time. Lean back, read and enjoy.

At this time I am considering probably changing the schedule to one carnival every three weeks. We will see. I did not make up my mind on this so far. Only one fact remains unchallenged. I tend to keep the quality of this carnival up and will only give you noteworthy articles to read.

Already in 2008 I featured many articles that were not submitted by their authors but were rather found by myself on the internet. I see this trend might continue, because at least 85% of the submitted articles don't qualify according to my set quality standards.

A couple of days ago I have received an email from some gmail.com address saying,

“You own the domain SOMEDOMAIN.BIZ^(*) and we thought you might be interested in purchasing SOMEDOMAIN.COM, which we own. We offer it to you for US$ 195.00. ...”

(*) I obviously changed the real domain name into a fake one.

Did you notice that I did not write about Web site development related — more technical issues — lately? For a simple reason:

That’s exactly how it should be, unless you are a developer, who deals with LAMP (*) issues on a daily basis. Since I am not a developer (anymore) my focus has shifted towards marketing and business related topics with occasional sidekicks to personal development.
