Blog Review in Rapid Paced Mode

Who is doing this “Rapid Paced Blogging Experiment” and the Blog reviews? It's a guy named Fank Carr at his OpTempo.com (↑) Blog.

It's astonishing to watch him post more articles in a day than others write in one or two weeks or even one month. Frank has written on his About Page that his goal is to write at least 10 quality articles each day.

He is posting on a wide range of topics — from celebrity, offbeat-news, commentary on general topics to how-to articles and Internet of course, but he even can write well about philosophical concerns.

His articles and posts about the Internet caught my attention though somewhere. Now I remember, it was on Pat B. Doyle's (↑) Blog. Frank wrote a Blog review for her. That's how I found him.

I liked the review and because Frank is currently offering to write reviews, I contacted him. Not only are his reviews well structured and valuable, he writes them for free right now in order to promote his new Blog.

Attract International Buyers More Easily

Connect The World! Why would you want to limit yourself to any national market, if your product could potentially conquer markets world wide?

I don't see any reason.

But I am always astonished to see, how many Web masters and shop owners, don't explicitly encourage international customers.

If you are running your business in the USA, you are prone for to not giving it any extra thoughts, because your national market consists of about 300 million “heads”, and you consider your business to be in the center of “universe”, anyway.

I am not talking about the language issue here. The proper multi-lingual setup of a Web site deserves an article of its own.

Comic - Comment Policy and no nofollow

Comic
Shrinking Self Esteem, Source: bLaugh.com (↑)

I found this comic today and thought this fits perfectly to my recent post “Small Talk About Business - Comments Closed”.

You might attribute low self-esteem to people who close comments on their blogs. But most likely you will be wrong. Too Low quality comments and comment spammers are said to be the real culprits. However, it's a funny little comic. I hope you like it , too.

I came up with a simple way of addressing the comment-spam problem in a less offensive way.

Bye-Bye Golden Layout

Orange/Blue Colour Scheme
The 'Old' FCON21 homepage. (Click thumbnail to enlarge!)
Do you notice the new color scheme of the Fcon21 sites? Last night we have updated our Web sites www.fcon21.biz (↑) and this E-Biz Booster Blog with a new color scheme. I would not say that it is a brand new layout, because almost everything is in its usual place. Navigation, footer elements, etc … But you might notice one additional function. Google Site Search. We'll eventually cover that in a future post in more detail.

After recommending a site search function for each larger site in John's post, “Site Search Do you have one”, we finally have it implemented for ourselves.

Small Talk About Business - Comments Closed

Blogs, also known as Weblogs are a great innovation. They allow it to share opinions, but unlike most forums the focus is set on quality posts/articles. Whereas in forums the communication character — almost chat like, sometimes — is in the foreground.

Nowadays you find more and more blogs that have their comments closed. That hurts the communication, doesn't it. Authors of posts ask their reader about their opinion and at the same time they clash them a “Comments closed, but you can leave a trackback” right into their faces. In the case you do not know what a trackback is, I will explain it to you in a minute.

Let us start with a comment first. → Continue reading:

Site Search - Do you have one?

If you have a large content site, you must offer site search.

The text input box for the search phrase should be top-right on each page. This is what usability studies suggest. See Jakob Nielsen's Usability Resource Pages and search for “SEARCH”. You'll get a number of interesting results.

Furthermore the text input box should …
